Vale Royal Abbey Golf Course is a par 72 parkland course that measures 6,463 yards in length, and it’s USGA greens and tees make it playable all year round. Although only built in 1998, the course has matured nicely and it’s well positioned bunkers and water features mean that positional play off the tee is key to shooting a good score.

Club Bye-Laws and Dress Code
General
All players, members and visitors must report to the Professional before commencing play.
Visitors may be required to produce a valid handicap certificate before being allowed to play the course.
All green fees must be paid before commencing play and the issued bag tag must be displayed whilst playing the course.

Health & Safety
Players are required to observe the etiquette in The Rules of Golf and the club’s Local Rules.
Health & Safety Notices, which are displayed on the course and Club Notice Boards must be observed.
It is the player's responsibility to be aware at all times of the danger to themselves and others.
Green keepers working on the course must be given priority.
Suspension of play for a dangerous situation, such as lightning, is signaled by one prolonged blast on the klaxon.

Dress Code
Generally smart casual dress is allowed.
Garments based on the design of manufactured golf attire are permitted.
Tailored shorts are allowed if worn with knee length or ankle length socks.

The following are NOT acceptable:
Collarless shirts unless specifically designed for golf
Football or rugby type shirts
Men's sleeveless shirts
Shirts not tucked into waistband (ladies may wear shirts specifically designed to be worn outside waistband)
Non tailored shorts e.g. beach and football shorts
Track and jogging suits
Combat trousers
Training shoes
Denim garments
Garments with loud or blatant advertising slogans
Hats in the clubhouse

Mobile Phones
Mobile phones must be switched off or switched to silent/vibrate-only mode whilst on club premises, including the car park and golf course.
No such device shall be used to the annoyance of others.
No such device shall be used in voice mode except in the following places.
Locker rooms;
Closed vehicle on the car park;
The golf course in an emergency.
Car Park
A car park is provided for members and visitors.
Golf shoes and clothing must not be changed in the car park.

Course Procedures
Players must observe any restrictions imposed by the daily course report.
Repair divots and pitch marks;
Rake bunkers and leave rake in bunker;
Any player who strikes a ball beyond the boundary of the course, should report the incident to the Professional;
If personal injury or property damage has resulted (or is suspected) from a struck golf ball, whether outside or within the perimeter of the course, then details of the incident shall be reported to the Professional.

Trolleys & Buggies
Only trolleys with wide wheels are allowed on the course;
Trolleys should remain on the gravelled paths or be driven down the first cut of rough, crossing the fairways at 90 degrees only for the playing of a shot;
Trolleys must not be taken over teeing grounds or greens including fringes;
Directional arrows and any other restrictions must be observed.
Practice Areas
Practice is limited to the designated areas.
Slow Play
The R &A Rules of Golf (Section 1 Etiquette - Pace of Play) state that players must play at a good pace and keep up with the group in front. As a guide the following groups should take no more than:
2 ball: 3hr 30min;
3 ball: 3hr 50min;
4 ball: 4hr 10min
Shorter round times should be the aim of all players.
